Week 2: Servlet Technology, JSP, JSTL, EL

HTTP Basics, Servlet lifecycle, Handling HTTP requests/sending HTTP responses, Session Management, Servlet API listeners, JSP scripting element, JSP Standard actions, Expression Language basics, JSP Standard Tag Library, Creating custom tags.

Week 3: Struts, Validator, Tiles, JavaScript, Ajax, Prototype, Scriptaculous

Using the Struts framework, MVC pattern, Struts custom tags, Validator framework, Tiles framework, JavaScript basics, Ajax basics, Prototype Ajax library, Scriptaculous JavaScript library.

Week 4: Spring, Spring-AOP, Hibernate, Spring-Hibernate Integration

Introduction to the Spring framework, Dependency Injection basics, Spring-AOP framework basics, integrating Spring with Struts framework, Hibernate basics, ORM Mapping, Integrating Hibernate with the Spring framework.

Week 5: EJB, Web Services

Introduction to Session beans (stateless and stateful), Entity beans, Java Messaging Service and Message-driven beans, Web Services basics, JAX-P, WSDL basics, SOAP basics, JAX-RPC/JAX-WS basics, creating web services using Apache Axis.

Notes:

  • Application Server that will be used during training ? JBoss
  • Database Server that will be used ? Oracle
  • A hands-on on Websphere and Weblogic will be given as well.
